A Gardener's Journal - 2001
1 October 2000
I spent the better part of a day rototilling the garden. I have a Troy-bilt Pony rear-tine tiller that I picked up used a couple of years ago. Someday I'll find a hiller attachment for it.4 January 2001
Well, the ground is frozen and I wasn't able to find the time to till in the contents of my compost bin that has been slowly decomposing for about the past two years. I'll have to get that done early this year as I doubled the size of the garden. I also have to replace and extend the fencing. The seed catalogs have started showing up in my mailbox -- that's a good sign that I'll soon be outdoors playing in the dirt. Of course, now I need to think about what to grow this year. I've been toying with the idea of trying to grow sweet corn but I'm not sure I have the room for it. For now, I guess I'll keep reading A Northeast Gardener's Year by Lee Reich.
